TJ does most of the carvin' — Alex does most of the talkin'. Together, Cedar Valley Carvings turns solid cedar logs into custom, one-of-a-kind pieces of art built to last a lifetime.
Every Cedar Valley Carvings piece is cut, shaped, and finished by hand with a chainsaw — no molds, no templates, no two pieces exactly alike. Alex handles the customer side and keeps every order on track, while TJ does the bulk of the carving that turns a raw log into a finished piece of art.
From a first-time name log to a full-size bear for the front porch, the goal is the same every time: build something your family will still be pointing at a generation from now.
Every carving is custom, so price depends on the size, wood, and detail of the piece. We offer extremely fair, competitive pricing — tell us your idea and we'll send a real quote, not a generic price list.
We primarily carve from cedar, which has a very long lifespan. Depending on the piece, we sometimes use pine or cypress instead.
Most carvings are finished within 1–3 weeks. Larger or more detailed pieces can take longer — we'll give you a specific timeline with your quote.
All of our pieces are carved from softwoods built to last a lifetime when cared for appropriately — many families keep theirs as an heirloom for generations.
Yes. Several of our name logs and smaller pieces are built specifically to ship, with cost depending on the size of the product. Larger custom work may be better suited to local pickup or delivery — ask when you request your quote.
Care guidance is on the way — in the meantime, keeping a piece sealed and out of standing water will help it hold up best outdoors.
